Nicole & Brian… engaged!!

Meet the lovely couple that is Nicole and Brian. I graduated high school with them so it was great to catch up with them while shooting.  It’s amazing how many people from our high school have ended up together.  My wife and I are also both graduates of Urbandale High School.

Aren’t they a gorgeous couple?!?!?

They brought their 3 adorable dogs for a few shots.

Senior: Kenzie

I’m oh so sad that senior season is pretty much over. I have had the best time with all of my seniors this year. Kenzie was AMAZING to photograph. Right away, she was nailing poses that not everyone could pull off. We had to battle some heavy winds and some colder weather, so it ended up being one of my quicker sessions. But thanks to her awesomeness, pretty much every shot was a winner.

Man these are so killer! You are my new fave! Glad I found your blog :)

Kasey & Scott… married!

All of my fall weddings this year have been just amazing for weather. Kasey and Scott’s day was no different. The wedding took place at the Gortz Haus in Grimes, which I had never been to before. What a cool little venue! I think it’s safe to say they were the most relaxed couple I’ve ever photographed. They really didn’t seem to care about most wedding day traditions, which in hindsight, they probably thought I was hilarious because I freaked out about so many things. For example, Kasey casually pulled up to the venue while Scott and I were outside so I was quickly trying to push him inside so he didn’t see her. Ha! To this he responds “I saw her this morning. It’s okay.” And again, I tried hiding Scott when I was photographing the dress, but again, he replied with “I’ve seen it before.”  Haha!!  Such a fun, relaxed couple.

The flowers were SOOOO amazing. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the color.
Kasey’s an amazing artist and graphic designer and it showed up at the wedding.
So this guy was amazing. I’d seriously pay to see him play again. (HERE is the link to his iTunes page. He played the song “honestly”)

Ryan, you’re amazing. Thank you sooo much!
I think most of our ignoring of traditions is because we just didn’t know what the hell we were doing! Your pictures make it look like we did though! That’s why we bring in the pros. You make us look good and not like the confused weirdos we are.
Best photographer ever!

WOW! Such vibrant colors and what a fun-looking wedding! You’ve done it again …

Emily & Mike… engaged!!

I’m a bit inclined to call this a laugh session, rather than an engagement session. These two gorgeous people laughed it up throughout the entire session. Talk about an easy shoot!! I’m so excited to photograph their wedding next year. I know it will be such a fun time.
